Strawberry Review: Common vs Drake = Rap Battle!
BATTLE!
This ain't beef, It's a full on BATTLE! When Sweet original dropped in November Common never said he was referring to Drake, he only said the song was addressed to "anyone who takes offense to it". Well it was clear Drake was offended after he's made numerous subliminal remarks to Common's statement at various shows .
Common's response:
“He opened his mouth and said some things, so if that’s what he want—all that subliminal [talk]…you could do that too, but say it now,” Common told Sway when the MTV News correspondent and Shade 45 radio host asked if “Sweet” was directed at the Young Money stand-out. “The verse is about me but when you hear some of the stuff on the chorus it’s like you can’t help but think about dude and I guess that’s what he felt. So at the end of day he fits in that category, he already embraced it, so wear it.”
And Drake took what Common said in his latest attack in the new single Stay Schemin off of Rick Ross's Rich Forever mixtape. But Drake STILL hasn't called out Common's name. So Common didn't hold his tongue and made sure this time Drake knew the battle has begin.Drake must've forgot Common is from the area of real MCing. "It's not beef, it's hip hop," said Common in the Sway interview.
