WhatImJamminOnTheiPod: Mania

Signed to Universal Motown Records, representing Southern California, brothers Like, Mibbs and longtime friend BeYoung took their high school enjoyment of rapping and became rap trio Pacific Division, aka Pac Div.

Hosted by Don Cannon, the Mania mixtape infuses the beloved sounds of old school hip hop with new school flows and production. From the moment you push play your taking on a musical journey where head bobs without you even realizing. This is a tape the fellas can ride to and the ladies can groove to. Their sound reminds you a little bit of Kanye West mixed with The Roots yet their style still stands on its own. Some of my favorites are the laid back track Take Me High, the inspirational Nobody's Perfect, and the hard hitting Your Fucking Song. Some features are some of the Chicago favorites BJ the Chicago Kid, Sir Michael Rocks (of The Cool Kids), also Ty$ and Casey Veggies.

I give this tape 5 out of 5 strawberries for originality and a fresh sound. This is a tape that your ears have been waiting for. Pac Div brings honest flows with enjoyable beats and memorable hooks that's sure to keep your iPod on repeat. Don't let the cover fool you, it's not the typical California sound you may expect.
