IT'S FINALLY HERE! Dawn Richard released her new mixtape “A Tell Tale Heart” via her website and this was definitely a tape I could not WAIT to download. The artwork was done by an up and coming artist by the name of Leann Buffington from New York University.


From the moment you hit play this tape takes you on a music journey and it's totally different from what you have experienced with Dawn in the past. This is not the POP/R&B sounds you've heard from Danity Kane or the HIp-Hop/Pop sounds of Dirty Money with Diddy's vocals all over it. This tape has that Kanye West 808s and Phil Collins type of vibe to it, with a little bit of Brandy's R&B swag. 


This tape gives you all of Dawn; a brand new openess we have yet to see from her. So far my favorites are Let Love In and Vibrate are a real melo midtempo track, Bulletproof which has this techno vibe to it, and Champion. These tracks just stand out to me.


I give this tape 5 out of 5 strawberries for being a GREAT listen. This is a tape for all ears. Whether your into Pop, Rock, Jazz, R&B, or Hip-Hop this tape fulfills all your musical sounds and needs. It's a joy to listen to and it brings a breathe of fresh air to my ears. This should've been an album not a mixtape because it is THAT GOOD!
