If your from Detriot you have heard the name Drey Skonie in the streets. If you're from Chicago you may know him from the group Kwiet Storm. If you were ever a Making the Band 4 fan you know him worldwide. Drey Skonie was one of the contestants who competed amongst some of the most talented R&B male singers in the nation and although he didn't make the group which we now know as Day26 [Brian, Mike, Rob and Will], he STILL is making noise in the streets.
Now solo, Drey Skonie is far more than a full package. As a Singer, Songwriter, Drummer , Pianist, Dancer and self taught guitarist he has teamed up with the Detroit’s notable production team No Speakerz to add a little polish to his first solo effort. Since the show Skonie has been heavy in the studio and what came out was a masterpiece!
On Earth Vol. 1 is a great mixture of original music and some of your favorite soulful ballads like Say Yes from Floetry and even the heavy hitting R&B Promise by Ciara. But don't put Skonie in a box cause he can bring his style to any music genre such as his sample of the Electronica Imogen Heap in his song Skonie High.
I give this mixtape 5 out of 5 strawberries for real R&B, soulful, and very well put together. Every song flows smoothly into the next making it too difficult to try and skip through. Every song takes you to another place. You can party, you can relax, and you can even set the mood with this tape if you like.
