It seems as though Canada is bringing the heat this year because some of the hottest music has been buzzing out of Toronto. The latest sensation Tory Lanez representing Toronto is no different. Often compared to Drake due to his rap-singing melodic tracks, Lanez bring a flavor all his on that's sure to bring a crazy fan base.
He began performing
at venues in cities such as Atlanta, California and Toronto at the age of sixteen and single handedly passed out over 12,000 mix-tapes in Atlanta,Miami,New York, California and North Carolina .During this grinding process he met Debra Antney of Mizay Entertainment
,Waka Flocka Flame and James Mason of Outsyder Entertainment .He was also able to perform in front of Greg Street.
As a result of such hard work Tory was discovered by
Sean Kingston on YouTube and invited to join him backstage during the Sean Kingston and Justine Bieber "My World" tour 2010 .After meeting with Sean he signed with Time Is Money Caribbean and began collaborating with artists/producers such as Soulja Boy,Bun B,Boi 1Da and Sean Kingston.
The first time I heard Lanez was with his Chixtape which had nonstop hits! Now he brings a new mixtape Swavey hosted by DJ Ill Will. Some of my favorites tracks are the groove of Laid Back Fun which gives me that old school Timbaland in the 90s feel mixed with The Dream's new school flow. I Go, a fun yet smooth track you can ride to both male and female. Happy Hour featuring Kid Ink gets you ready for the clubs and that party your headed to with its reggae/pop melody.
Overall I give this tape a 4 out of 5 strawberries for being a fun swag filled tape perfect for this summer weather. I can hear this being blasted at all the beach parties and family barbecues. The cover art is dope and Lanez brings you quality music everytime. It's definitely worth the download.
