Just in time for the holidays, Chicago unsigned Hip Hop artist Speedy Calhoun from the South side drops his anticipated mixtape Impulsive Behavior Vol.1 right under your Christmas tree.


Speedy Calhoun who is known on the spoken word scene has connected his passion for words with his love for the rhythm in the music. 


Speedy Cal takes some of your favorite instrumentals like Runaway and throws in a few of his own beats such as his Amy Winehouse sample in I Go Back to tell a story all his own. His flow is incomparable, yet you can tell he gets inspiration from artist like Kanye West, Ludacris, and even some old skool Biz Markie.


I would give this mixtapes 3 out of  5 strawberries for being a good buzz mixtape. Overall, the mixtape had great moments such as the comedic interludes and sarcastic flows. He spits the real and has a good choice in music. However, I do feel like this was an introduction mixtape to let the streets know who Speedy Cal is. I wish there were a few more original tracks than instrumentals. Nonetheless, I know he has more to come and this is an artist you DEFINITELY want to be on the lookout for.
